Uttarakhand CM Launches Higher Education Quality Scheme 2024

Uttarakhand CM Launches Higher Education Quality Scheme 2024

In a bid to enhance the higher education system in Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s government has launched a new initiative aimed at students and research scholars. The program, titled Chief Minister Higher Education Quality Upgradation and Knowledge Enhancement Training Scheme 2024, seeks to significantly improve the academic landscape in the state.

Under this initiative, students from universities in Uttarakhand will be given the opportunity to participate in special educational tours to prominent institutions that specialize in their respective fields. These tours are designed to help students understand the functioning and academic structures of leading institutions. The selection of students for these tours will be based on their academic discipline, and they will also attend orientation training programs organized by the host institutions.

In addition to benefiting students, the scheme also includes provisions for faculty members. Teachers from state universities, campuses, and government colleges under Uttarakhand’s higher education department will have the opportunity to visit top educational institutions and research centers across the country. These visits aim to expose faculty members to new global trends and methodologies in higher education.

Shailesh Bagoli, Secretary to the Chief Minister, emphasized that the goal of this scheme is to establish a robust framework for sending teachers and students from Uttarakhand to renowned institutions across the nation. This exposure will help align them with the latest developments in higher education and facilitate the exchange of knowledge and ideas.

The scheme also includes a reward program for faculty members whose research papers are published in well-regarded international journals, recognizing their contributions to academic excellence.

The training programs during these tours will be short-term and focus on knowledge enhancement and quality improvement. The modules for these programs will be collaboratively designed with input from the host institutions to ensure that both students and faculty gain maximum benefit.

This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to advancing academic excellence in Uttarakhand and ensuring that the state’s educators and scholars are equipped with modern knowledge and skills.
